A figure is a person. Pages tagged figure document an artist, theorist, organizer, or anyone whose acts are part of the subject under investigation. Treat each entry as a working sketch: the figure’s contribution, their relationship to the wider movement, and the strands of work that lead in and out of them. Pages will deepen as research continues; absence of a page is not absence of importance, only absence of evidence so far.
