adjacent

An adjacent aesthetic is a neighbor in formal or social terms — close enough that the wiki must say what it shares with the subject and where they part. Pages tagged adjacent exist to sharpen the boundary by comparison. They are not dismissals of the neighbor; they are a way of seeing the subject more clearly by showing what it isn’t, while crediting what it borrows.

A disputed page is one where the subject’s status is actively contested — the artist’s identity, an attribution, an event’s record, a movement’s boundary. The Clio Press model treats lineage as load-bearing; a movement that doesn’t know where it comes from cannot be honestly read.

A movement is a named scene, school, or current — a body of work and a community of practice that recognize themselves as kin. Pages tagged movement trace where the name came from, what counts as in or out, the works that exemplify it, and the disputes inside it. Movements are slippery; the wiki tries to honor what insiders call themselves while remaining honest about contested boundaries.

Venues are infrastructural: a movement’s possibility space is in part the venues willing to host it.
